Tuanku Imam Bonjol

Tuanku Imam Bonjol lahir di Bonjol, Pasaman, Sumatera Barat pada 1772. Tuanku Imam Bonjol adalah salah seorang pimpinan Pasukan Padri melawan tentara Belanda. Dibawah kepemimpinannya kaum Padri berdamai dengan kaum adat dan kemudian bersama menghadapi Belanda. Ia ditangkap Belanda saat dibawa berunding, kemudia diasingkan ke Sukabumi, Ambon, dan kemudian ke Manado. Ia wafat pada 6 Nopember 1864. Diangkat sebagai Pahlawan Nasional oleh Presiden Soharto berdasarkan Kepres Nomor 087/TK/Tahun 1973 tanggal 6 Nopember 1973.

Tuanku Imam Bonjol

Tuanku Imam Bonjol was born in Bonjol, Pasaman, West Sumatra in 1772. Tuanku Imam Bonjol was one of the leaders of the Padri troops fighting the Dutch. Under his leadership of the Padri made a peace with Adat Group and together fought the Dutch. He was arrested by the Dutch during negotiation talks and then exiled first to Sukabumi, then Ambon, and then Manado. He died on the 6th of November 1864. He was elevated as a National Hero by President Soeharto based on Presidential Act Number 087/TK/1973 on the 6th of November 1973.
